We believe children should have time to be children and only assign homework where it adds value or requires home practice. We recognise that excessive homework can strain family relationships.
Our approach
- Limited scope — Homework focuses on reinforcement and repeated practice where beneficial
- Secondary preparation — Additional homework is introduced in Year 5’s summer term to develop organisational skills, deadline management and independent learning habits
- Individualised approach — Teachers may assign different work based on individual student needs, whether additional support or enrichment, with parental discussion
